I am One Hundred and fifty-eight words short of my daily goal of five hundred

It is 11:52pm on Thursday night and the first word that came to mind was Byzantine

So of course I go immediately to etymology because I’ve heard of the era but it seems more structural in architecture and I love old buildings

Then stuff about Constantinople which makes me think of a song, but I can’t focus long enough to remember the specific lyrics

So now I have an ear worm, and a beat thumping in some special compartment of my brain space, left to run to the finish line

And these lines, like so many are made on the spot as a challenge to my fingers dexterity- and the flexibility of my mind

Sometimes, it isn’t about the profundity or the classic clasp of something smart or witty-

It’s going back to grasp those last words at the dead line

11:58pm

159 words, excluding this
